  • How to Lose Weight While Battling PCOS

Posted on July 16th, 2009 freak No comments

If you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome also know as PCOS, than it is no shocker to you when I say it is hard to lose weight. Well the good news is their could be hope. I was diagnosed with PCOS in November of 2008 but I have no clue how long I had lived with it. I do know I could not lose weight since having my child back in 2005. Since November I have lost about 16 pounds. Here is how I did it.

First I went to the doctor and told him all of my symptoms and had an ultrasound. If you have not done this but think you may have PCOS call your doctor immediately and schedule an appointment. He prescribed a medicine called Metformin. It is actually for diabetics but can be used to treat metabolic disorders and PCOS. I take 4 pills a day with food. I take 2 in the morning and immediately eat something and then I take 2 at night with my late night snack. I can not stress that enough, eat something when taking Metformin. I have also been taking a pill called Lipodrene. It is a weight loss pill. You can get it in several different forms (i.e. ephedra extract, hoodia). I prefer the ephedra extract. I take 2 pills in the morning and 1 pill around lunch.

Like I said before, I have lost around 16 pounds since November. That is really good considering I haven’t been able to budge the scales for 3 years. I love both of these pills. The prescribed Metformin has helped stop my chin area acne, my facial hair, and my irregular periods. The over-the-counter Lipodrene has helped me lose weight really fast. I believe this time when I Dude at my goal weight, I will be able to stay at my goal weight. The best part is that now I am feeling very confident which I have not experienced since before my pregnancy.
